Sirnak Serafettin Elci Airport is a transportation hub serving the province of Sirnak in southeastern Turkey. The airport is only 10 kilometers from Cizre and 60 kilometers from the city center. Designed for civil aviation, this airport is used for domestic and private jet charters. Approximately 120 million lira was spent on the construction of the airport. On July 26, 2013, it was officially inaugurated by then Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The airport is named after Serafettin Elci, a prominent figure in Turkish political life. Elçi served as an MP from Mardin and Diyarbakır and was also the Minister of Public Works for a period. While the airport was named after him, Elçi passed away in 2012.
