Brief history of Valladolid Airport

The airport was opened in 1938 in Villanubla, a small town 11 km from Valladolid. The airport was renovated in 1952, 1972, 1982, 1990 and 2000. The new passenger terminal was inaugurated in 2000 and its main features are its clean, functional design, emphasized by spaciousness and numerous aesthetic elements. In recent years, with the arrival of low-cost airlines, the number of passengers has greatly increased, especially in the field of tourist and holiday flights. Transportation to the city center can be done by buses operated by Linecar company. The buses operate between 06:00 – 21:00 Monday – Saturday and between 09:00 – 21:00 on Sundays. Apart from buses, there are taxis outside the port and these taxis provide transportation to the city center with a fixed fare. There are also private car rental offices of different companies in the port.
