Comoros Moroni Private Jet Charter

The port, whose full name is Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport, colloquially called Moroni-Hahaya Airport, is the only international commercial airport in the Comoros. The airport is the largest in Comoros and has regular scheduled flights to the other two main islands of Anjouan and Mohéli. History of Moroni Airport

In 2003, France decided to help the airport meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization so that it could join the Air Navigation Safety Agency in Africa and Madagascar. In September 2006, the French Development Agency allocated 3 million euros for the second phase of the airport’s upgrade, which included navigation equipment, the renovation of the control tower and the construction of the approach ramp.

At the end of January 2012, the Council of Ministers approved the start of the expansion and development of the airport. A delegation of Iraqi engineers began conducting feasibility studies on the same date.

The plans include a terminal to meet the growing demand for passenger traffic and a runway that can handle both medium-sized aircraft (such as the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320) and large aircraft (such as the Boeing 777, Boeing 747 or Airbus A330 A340 and Boeing 787).

In May 2017, a new contract was signed with the Chinese company Sinohydro Coropration Limited for the rehabilitation and expansion of the airport. The works took 3 years and cost 77 billion Comoros francs. As part of the works, the runway length was extended to 3600 meters.

In January 2018, the ASECNA regional delegation moved to its new premises on the airport’s runway. In June 2018, Turkish Airlines became the first non-regional airline to fly to Comoros and Said Ibrahim Airport.
