History of Bursa Yenişehir Airport
Due to the fact that large-bodied planes could not land at Bursa Yunuseli Airport, which is located near the city center of Bursa and serves the province of Bursa, a new airport has come to the fore. As a result of the examinations, it was decided to build an aerodrome in Yenişehir, which is included in the inventory of the Air Force Command, to civil traffic. The tender made within the scope of the decision was won by Mak-Yol A.Ş. on 13.07.1995, and works started. Within the scope of the tender, in addition to the military airport, 1 runway, an apron with 7 parking areas, a taxiway, terminal building, vehicle road, navigation aid devices were built and delivered to DHMI. Mak-Yol A.Ş. won the tender opened for the need for a cargo building in the port, and the cargo building project was started on 02.05.1997. The completed building was put into service on 20.05.2001.
