History of Trabzon Airport from 1957 to the present

Established in 1957, Trabzon International Airport has gradually become one of the most important air travel facilities in the region. For most of its history, the airport in Trabzon has served domestic flights. However, it also hosts charter flights to various destinations in Europe and the Arab world.

As a result of the increased traffic in the 80s, renovation works were carried out on the runways and were completed in the same year. Buses are the most preferred way to reach the city center from the airport. Many buses that pass through the stop outside the airport go to the city center. Apart from the municipal buses, Havaş buses provide shuttle services to the surrounding provinces and districts, including Trabzon city center.

Taxi stands located outside the port are also among the alternatives, and it is possible to reach the city center by taxi in about 10 minutes.
