Trabzon Airport is an airport located in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey, near the city of Trabzon. The airport, which was opened in 1957, ranks 9th in total passenger traffic and 7th in domestic traffic among airports in Turkey. It is one of the closest airports to the city center. The distance from the port to the city center is 6 km.

History of Trabzon Airport from 1957 to the present
Established in 1957, Trabzon International Airport has gradually become one of the most important air travel facilities in the region. For most of its history, the airport in Trabzon has served domestic flights. However, it also hosts charter flights to various destinations in Europe and the Arab world.
As a result of the increased traffic in the 80s, renovation works were carried out on the runways and were completed in the same year. On 22.06.1988, international flights were started. the last renovation works have been completed with the new domestic terminal building and parking lot, which started to serve in 2008.

The airport is on the Trabzon-Ordu highway, and has a distance of 8 km from the Meydan Park, 49 km from the Sümela Monastery, 83 km from Rize, 100 km from Uzungöl, 136 km from Giresun and 185 km from Ordu. The average arrival time to the city center is about 15 minutes.
Buses are the most preferred way to reach the city center from the airport. Many buses that pass through the stop outside the airport go to the city center. Apart from the municipal buses, Havaş buses provide shuttle services to the surrounding provinces and districts, including Trabzon city center.
Taxi stands located outside the port are also among the alternatives, and it is possible to reach the city center by taxi in about 10 minutes.
Passengers who want to reach the city center with their private car can reach the city center in about 10 minutes via the D885/E97 Trabzon main road.
