Ordu Giresun Airport is a civilian airport built between Gülyalı district of Ordu and Piraziz district of Giresun. The airport is the first airport project built on the sea in Turkey. The port is operated by the state-owned General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI).
Ordu Giresun Airport serves as Domestic and International Terminal within a single terminal building of 20.250 square metres. Within the port, there is a 1343 square metre VIP lounge reserved for diplomatic visits and private jet passengers. There are 5 aircraft parking areas at the airport.

Brief history of Ordu Giresun Airport
The idea of an airport on an artificial island for the two Black Sea provinces was first proposed in 1992. Construction work was started in 1994. However, due to high costs, the project stopped shortly afterwards. The government took a second airport project into consideration and plans were worked on between 2008 and 2010. The project was launched on 13 July 2011. The airport opened to traffic on 22 May 2015.
The construction of the airport cost 290 million ₺. It is planned to serve approximately 2 million passengers per year for Ordu and Giresun provinces with a total population of 1.2 million.

It is possible to go from Ordu-Giresun Airport, which is approximately 20 kilometres away from the city, to both Ordu city and Giresun city in approximately 20 minutes by taxi. Taxis are available 24 hours a day in front of the terminal building.
Another vehicle you can use is Havaş shuttles. The shuttles serve for every plane landing and the shuttles depart for the city centre 25 minutes after the landing time. Shuttles reach the centre within 30 minutes on average.
It is also possible to obtain a car from the car rental companies located in the harbour.
