History of Chisinau Airport
Chisinau airport is one of the oldest airports in Europe. The first scheduled flight from Chisinau took place on June 24, 1926. By establishing the main terminal building in 1970, the service quality was maximized according to the conditions of the period.
Chisinau Airport, which was awarded the international airport status on May 31, 1995, was modernized in 2002 following the efforts of the Turkish company Akfen Holding. After the modernization work carried out in 2002, no renovation work was carried out at the airport.

It is possible to reach the city center by bus number 30 available outside the Chisinau Airport. It should be noted that these buses operate only between 06:00 and 22:59 hours. Taxis are also available outside the airport. Line 165, which is located beyond the bus stops, is reserved for minibuses and provides service between 05:45 – 22:00, and minibuses depart every 10 minutes.
There are many rental agencies in the airport, including CityAutoRent, Goodrent, Sixt and Europcar. Passengers who want to reach the center with their private car can reach the city center in 15 minutes by using the Muncesti Hwy main road.
