The airport is located on the Kızıltepe-Mardin road. On June 14, 2011, the port was temporarily closed to flight traffic due to renovation works on the runways, a technical block was built and the tower was renovated. As of July 2014, a new terminal building was constructed and started to serve at international level. However, no international flights have been organized yet. The airport is 8 km from Kızıltepe, 66 km from Nusaybin and 75 km from Midyat.

You can also take minibuses departing from the minibus station near the airport to the city center via Kızıltepe-Mardin road.
