Igdir Sehit Bulent Aydin Airport is the easternmost airport in Turkey, located within the borders of Igdir province. The airport is located 16 kilometers from Igdir city center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of the airport near K\u00fcll\u00fck Village, which started in 1996 but was completely halted in 2001, was resumed on June 12, 2010. The airport was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan on July 13, 2012 and currently serves domestic and private jet<\/a> charters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Igd\u0131r Airport has a 3000 meter long and 45 meter wide runway, a 250 meter long and 24 meter wide taxiway, five aircraft parking lots and a 240 meter long and 120 meter wide apron. In April 2017, Igdir Airport was renamed \u201cIgdir \u015eehit B\u00fclent Ayd\u0131n Airport\u201d in memory of B\u00fclent Ayd\u0131n, an artillery petty officer from Igdir who was killed by coup plotters during the July 15 coup attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
