Malatya Erha\u00e7 Airport, which is in the Civil and Military category, is located within the provincial borders. Located 34 kilometres north of the city centre, the airport has two runways paved with asphalt. The 7th Main Jet Base of the Combat Air Force Command is also located here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History of Malatya Erhac Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first airport built and put into service in Malatya was in Eski Malatya, now Battalgazi, in 1941. However, the airport, which was later relocated to another location, was finally built in May 1941 in the area still in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2009, the runway of the port was extended to 3350 x 45 metres. The first use of the renovated runway took place on 23 October 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get from Malatya Airport to the city centre?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can reach the city centre from the airport by taxi, Hava\u015f or rent a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are taxis serving 24 hours a day at the stops in front of the harbour. It is possible to find a taxi even on busy days and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Apart from taxis, Hava\u015f services are also available according to the landing times of the planes. Hava\u015f vehicles reach the centre in approximately 45 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
