Opened in 1998, Tekirdag Corlu Atat\u00fcrk Airport is the only airport in the Thrace region of Turkey that actively carries passengers. Located 15 kilometres from the district centre, it is situated to the east of \u00c7orlu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Used for civil and military purposes, the airport has a terminal with a capacity of 1,000,000 passengers per year and an asphalt runway equipped with an instrument landing system (ILS). \u00c7orlu Airport can accommodate eleven commercial aircraft. In 2019, after Istanbul-Atat\u00fcrk Airport was closed to air traffic, the small airport was renamed “Atat\u00fcrk” by President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The province of Tekirdag is located on the northern coast of the Sea of Marmara and is an important commercial port. Sandy beaches stretch on both sides of the province.
